Eleanor June Goosby, G. W. Bailey’s ex-wife

Eleanor June Goosby is the ex-wife of G.W. Bailey. The ex-husband of Goosby, Bailey has a career as an American actor. Although he played many drama roles, Bailey could be remembered most by his “crusty” comic characters, such as the Staff Sergeant Luther Rizzo in M*A*S*H (TV series from 1979-1983) Captain/Lieutenant Thaddeus Harris on The Police Academy film series (1984-1994) and the Captain Felix Maxwell in Mannequin (1987). He played the Detective Lieutenant Louie Provenza on TNT’s television crime drama The Closer, and its spinoff series Major Crimes, from 2005 to 2018.

From 2001 to the present, Bailey has served as the executive director for the Sunshine Kids Foundation, which offers trips and other activities to thousands of children with cancer each year. Bailey began volunteering with the foundation when his daughter was diagnosed with leukemia.

Bailey graduated from college and worked in his time working for local theaters before making the move to California in the late 1970s. He made his debut on television with an occasional appearance as police officers at crime scenes in the short-lived detective program Harry O. Then he landed one-shot , episodic roles on the television shows of the time like Starsky and Hutch and Charlie’s Angels. His first film appearance was in A Force of One (1979) the first Chuck Norris film. By the end of the 1970s he was cast in his breakthrough role as the conniving, smoking goldbricker Sgt. Luther Rizzo in M*A*S*H. He also starred as Tom Berenger’s companion for Rustler’s Rhapsody (1985).

The ex-husband of Eleanor June Goosby returned to the college in 1993. He graduated in 1993 from Texas State University located in San Marcos, Texas in May 1993 with an undergraduate degree in Fine Arts Theater. In the 1999-2000 school year He was the Artist-in-Residence.
