A moving video of a man aged 29 who is still a baby because he’s unable to grow due to a rare disease that has hindered the growth of his body has been posted online.
The ‘baby ‘ man is known as Pingping and he suffers from a medical condition known as Progeria or Hutchinson Gilford Progeria syndrome (HGPS).
Based on Google, Benjamin Button syndrome is an unofficial term for Hutchinson-Gilford progeria disorder (HGPS) also known as progeria.
The rare genetic disorder is found in one out of four million infants. It causes the babies age quickly due to the fact that the cells in them ingest progerin, a protein that is released due to an error within their genetic.
Progeria-related children seem to be healthy from birth, but they usually begin to exhibit signs of rapid aging within the beginning of their lives. Most of them die between 13 or 14, but some can live to their 20s. The reason for death is typically heart disease, and sometimes stroke.
A video that went popular on social networks has shown Pingping being treated like an infant even though he’s grown enough to have with his family.
