Irulu 10.1 Tablet Reviews – Not Too Big, Not Too Small!

iRulu seems to be one of the budget Chinese brands that are saturating the market for electronics today.

But, iRulu does not belong to the Chinese brand. It’s actually an US company that specializes in electronic devices, such as MP3 players and tablets.

Although they focus on tablets however, they don’t have many products on their list and their offerings are 10.1″ tablet.

Let’s look over the two iRulu 10.1 tablet reviews.

Product Roundup

Note from the Editor: These products are no longer in stock.

1. Walknbook 2-in-1

Its iRulu Walknbook 2-in-1 doesn’t look like your normal Windows tablet. At first I was thinking it was a notebook in miniature.

The device is very slim and has a bright green bezel, topped by a black one that is very at risk of fingerprints.

The back panel is a glossy finish. It includes the iRulu, windows as well as Intel logos prominently carved with the necessary safety information for the device on the charging voltage and other functions that are hidden from view.

It is weighed at 20.7oz (587g) and is sized at 10.2 7.7 x 0.4 inches (259.1 x 177.8 and 10.2 millimeters). It’s quite compact and light it’s compared to other tablets, or a 2-in-1 convertibles within that same range of price.

For ports available, this tablet includes a mini-HDMI USB-C, micro USB, and a microSD reader. The tablet has an easily detachable keyboard and keyboard cover that doubles as a kickstand, which holds the screen up when it is in laptop mode.

The keyboard is connected with it with magnets, as well as some pogo pings.

When it comes onto the monitor, you’ll find an 10.1″ monitor with resolution of 1280×800 pixels and an extremely low PPI of 150. The colors are good, but the small amount of PPI make the display blurry therefore the images don’t look that sharp.

In the case of modern-day convertibles, when you shut the cover on your keyboard the proximity sensor or light can be used to turn the display off. This feature isn’t included with the Walknbook which means you need to manually hit the power button prior to shutting the cover of your keyboard.

On the other hand, it is powered with the Intel Baytrail Z3735F Quad Core chipsett that clocks around 1.33Ghz-1.83Ghz. Multi-tasking is a challenging job, however basic tasks can be accomplished with ease.

The device is equipped with the battery of 5000mAh and is able to offer between 6 and 7 hours of uninterrupted web browsing via WiFi.

Pros

  • Good battery
  • Colorful display

Cons

  • Low PPI
  • Rear finish is glossy and shiny

2. eXpro X1 Plus

This IRulu Expro x1 review may seem harsh, however it’s just what it is.

The tablet has 1GB RAM as well as an 8GB of storage and I would not endorse this model. The Walknbook is superior however let’s look at the other features this tablet can provide.

Its X1 Plus has a white rear panel that has an attractive glossy finish. It also has the iRulu logo etched into the middle. The glossy finish makes it hard to grasp the device in a stable position and it could slide off and break easily in the event of a fall from a high level.

The device’s weight is at 19.2oz (544.3g) and its dimensions are 10.1 inches x 6.3 inches x 0.4 millimeters ( 256.5 inches x 160.0 10.2 x 10.2 millimeters). It is smaller and lighter than the Walknbook which is why it seems to have some positive points.

Another benefit it has in comparison with other displays like the Walknbook one of which is PPI. This 10.1″ screen has less resolution, however it has an increased PPI of 178. It’s likely due to the smaller dimensions.

In the middle is the MediaTek Quad-Core processor that runs around 1.33Ghz. Even if it had the ability, it’s restricted by the RAM of 1GB.

The battery capacity is more powerful than those of Walknbook in terms of 500mAh.

Although it has certain advantages over the previous tablet but the Walknbook is most likely the best alternative.

Pros

  • Pretty good PPI
  • Lightweight

Cons

  • Entry level processor
  • 1Gb RAM
  • 8GB internal storage

When I first learned it wasn’t a typical Chinese company, I was filled with hopes. If it wasn’t the Walknbook 2-in-1, all my hopes and expectations would’ve been destroyed.

The Walknbook is an acceptable convertible, and it’s adequate for its price. It’s a great device to carry out simple tasks, and can be used as a backup device.

In the case of this model, the eXpro X1 Plus, the 8GB and 1GB RAM are huge limitations for an entry level MediaTek processors don’t benefit any way.
