Where is the “i” Icon on Apple Watch? (And What is it doing?)

If you’re thinking about where the ‘i’ symbol on the Apple watches face located, you’ll only be able to see it during the pairing process. By clicking it, you can allow yourself to pair your watch manually in the event that the automatic pairing procedure is not working properly.

I don’t have an Apple watch, but I owned one for a few years. I’ve had the need to manually pair with the information icon several times. I’ll demonstrate how to find and use it in the following.

Where is the “i” Icon on the Apple Watch?

Like we said, you’ll only get the ‘i’ icon in the pairing process. There will be a Start pairing button. This will be followed by a circled “i” image on the Apple display of your watch. When you tap it, you can connect your watch by hand. It should be located on the right-bottom corner.

How do you manually pair your Watch by using the “i” Icon?

Here’s the way to go:

  • The pairing process should begin in the same way you would normally do
  • Follow the instructions on screen such as choosing your language, and continue until you are in the Start Pairing section.
  • Tap Pair Apple watch manually
  • Make sure to click the “i’ on your Apple watch
  • The six-digit code you received from the watch to the iPhone

How Do You Un-Pair Your Watch Manually, Using the “i” Icon?

You can also click the information icon to de-pair your watch as well. I’ve broken down how to do this into two steps.

The Apple watch:

  • Start the Settings app.
  • Make sure to press the digital crown
  • Click on General
  • Tap Reset
  • Tap the erase all content and Options option

When you connect to your iPhone it’s connected to

  • Start to the Apple Watch app
  • Go to My Watch in the My Watch tab
  • Select and locate the smartwatch you wish to decouple
  • Click on the I icon next
  • Tap the Unpair Apple Watch button in order to verify the changes.

What Should You Do If You Aren’t able to Find the “i’ Icon?

If you are unable to see the icon for information, don’t to be worried. It’s a very common problem. It’s not something you’ll notice even if your smartwatch has been connected to an iPhone.

If you’re Apple watch isn’t paired with a different device and you’re still not seeing the ‘i’ symbol You may be having a problem. Try restarting your phone and watch. This should solve the issue.

What is the reason for My Apple Watch Not Pairing?

I’ve looked into the solution to this problem in depth in a separate post. In the meantime, let’s talk about the reasons your Apple watch may not connect.

Let’s get started.

1. Too Far Away

The Apple wearable and iPhone aren’t capable of pairing in the event that they’re separated. The most they can be could be as close as 30 feet. Bring them closer to check if the issue is still there.

If you’re wondering what the reason is for them to be in close proximity is because they are connected via Bluetooth.

2. Bluetooth Turns Off Bluetooth

Bluetooth might not be available on your phone or watch. Start Control Center. Control Center and double-check this.

If you’re wondering how you can do it, you just need to (works for both mobile devices):

  • Tap in order to access the Control Center
  • Find and tap the Bluetooth icon if it’s turned off

Try pairing them again. It is likely that you will not encounter any issues right now.

3. Software Glitch

You may be experiencing an isolated issue. Try switching the devices off and on to see if it can help.

If you have an iPhone you are able to perform a force restart. This is a fairly comprehensive solution when you’re facing issues with software. If you’re dealing with a complicated software issue that even normal rebooting isn’t able to fix it could be the solution.

The force-reboot process to perform depends on your iPhone model, therefore I won’t go in depth about it. Read my complete guide to know what you should do when you find that your Apple watch isn’t connecting.

4. Network Error

The last but not least it is possible that you are experiencing a network issue. If that’s your situation, then you could have different issues, too.

It is likely that the issue can be found located on your iPhone. You can remove it by resetting networks settings. But, remember that any personal network settings that you’ve made will be erased. It is necessary to set them back up from scratch.

Here’s how:

  • Start the Settings app.
  • Go to General and then click Transfer or Reset. iPhone
  • Click on the option to Reset All Settings
  • Enter your Apple ID password

What are the other Apple Watch icons look like and What does it mean?

In addition to the ‘i’ symbol, you’ve probably seen many other Apple watch icons. As I was wrapping up my post, I thought it would be worthwhile to examine some of them.

Let’s talk about it:

  • Lightning bolt green: You see a green lightning bolt when your smartwatch is charging.
  • Lightning bolt red: You see a lightning bolt in red when you have a low battery
  • Airplane icon The user will see the Airplane icon when you’re in the airplane mode on. If you’re familiar with it that you will no longer receive texts as well as calls, as well as you’ll be able for internet connectivity as well.
  • Moon icon in purple: The symbol for Do not disturb. When you see it you won’t receive notifications of any alerts or calls. You’ll only be notified of the alarm.
  • Two red masks This is the sign for Theater Mode. If you notice it, it means that the silent mode was turned on
  • Three dots. This is the symbol used to represent LTE. This indicates that you have an internet connection that is stable.
  • Red X symbol: Symbol for no signal. It is usually seen when you lose the connection to a cell network
  • Purple Arrow: The location indicator symbol. If you see it, you know that the location feature of your device has been activated.
  • blue padlock”Lock” symbol. It indicates the lock on your Apple watch is locked.
  • Mic red: This is the indicator for Mic. It indicates that there’s recording audio currently taking place in the background
  • Walkie Talkie in green background This feature is available on walkie-talkies means that you’re currently able to send messages in one line to your contacts.

Final Thoughts

The icon ‘i’ is displayed in the Apple watch pairing process. The best part is you can use it to pair and remove your smartwatch from pairing.

It wasn’t just that I go through the place where the i icon of Apple wearables is but also I also ran through a lot of other related information as well.
