Nina Malek Inman Rawls is an ex-flight attendant, and spouse of Lou Rawls. Nina Malek Inman Rawls’ ex-husband, Lou was a Black American performer, singer and an education advocate. As an artist, he released over 60 albums and sold over 40 million albums and charted numerous singles, including his single “You’ll Never Find Another Love Like Mine”.

Nina Malek Inman Rawls is the third woman Lou Rawls got married to and that’s how she became famous.

The two remained romantically engaged for two years prior to getting married. The couple got married in a gorgeous ceremony on 1 1 Jan 2004 , on New Year’s Day at exactly 12:1 AM.

The couple were married in Memphis following Lou had finished her New Year shows at Peabody Hotel and Liberty Bowl. The ceremony was presided over with the help of Shelby County Mayor A C Wharton and was held in a tiny room in The Peabody Hotel. When they got married, wedding, Nina was 33 years old, while Lou was age 68.

Just ninety days before their one-year anniversary Lou Rawls and his wife Nina Malek Inman Rawls welcomed their first child and sonAiden Allen Rawls. Aiden Allen Rawls, weighing at six pounds and 14 pounds and fourteen ounces. Lou was married three times, and Nina was the third. The first wedding was with Lana Rawls whom he had three children with and his third wedding occurred with Ceci Rawls..

While the couple seemed happy initially, things turned around after a period of time. In court papers, Lou Rawls relayed that his wife Nina Rawls had married him to protect his assets, and not because of love. 

According Lou Sr. Lou Sr, he was trying to get his marriage annulled to safeguard the hundreds of thousands of assets that his wife had taken.

But Nina disproved all accusations and claimed that she had transferred only $350,000 into an account that was private to stop the daughters of the producer from getting access to it. 

Lou’s passing and Nina Rawls and her stepdaughter Louanna’s Feud

As of December 5, 2005 the artist had a diagnosis of lung cancer. He began treatment at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. Lou Rawls eventually passed away on the 6th of January, 2006 due to lung cancer and complications of Pneumonia. 

Nina added that her husband did not just had lung cancer, but also battled brain cancer. Lou Sr was aged 72.

Lou died without solving an underlying financial issue between the couple and their estranged wife which caused serious problems following his death. 

There was a rift with Nina Malek Inman Rawls and her stepdaughter Louanna. The conflict started when the former claimed Louanna as trying to hinder Aiden’s adoption. 

The former flight attendant claimed that Louanna was trying to convince her father to leave it , but was unsuccessful.

Nina Malek Inman Rawls revealed that following the death of Lou his daughter, Louanna was able to take all of Lou’s jewelry including his Grammy awards the wedding ring and platinum and gold albums.  

She revealed that she pleaded with Louanna to return the items , so Lou Sr. could be burial in his wedding ring.

Additionally, reports also stated reports that Nina Rawls said Lou wanted to be buried, however Louanna and a close friend of the singer told them that he would prefer cremation first.  More details haven’t been released regarding the fuel. 

However, according to a report the funeral was held on the premises of West Angeles Church on South Crenshaw Blvd. In Los Angeles. 

Stevie Wonder agreed to perform at the event as did other stars who performed, including Etta James Della Reese, Andrae Crouch along with Joan Baez.
